The Wonders of Statue of Liberty

The Statue of Liberty, titled officially as Liberty that is Enlightening the World, a monument, was dedicated on the 28th of October, 1886 to remember the centennial of United States Declaration of their Independence bestowed by the French government to U.S. to signify the alliance between two nations recognized in the duration of American Revolution.

The sculpture symbolizes a woman who wears a stola, a glowing crown and flip-flops, stepping on a wrecked chain, holding a torch rose in her right hand and tabula ansata in her left hand, engraved there was the date July 4, 1776, Declaration of Independence of U.S.A. The statue stands on Liberty Island in the harbor of New York which welcomes guests, migrants and American returnees who travel by ship. Frederic Auguste Bartholdi carved this statue and he got a patent from U.S. for the structure.

History of the Statue of Liberty

A statue of a pale lady stands against the shadows of New York skyline holding a torch in one hand with an arm raised and clutching a nook close to her breast. Her face is etched with an expression of hope and she faces towards the Atlantic Ocean. This statue of the lady is the ever famous ‘Statue of Liberty’. It is a symbol of hope and peace that was gifted by the French to the American people.

France and the Unites States had developed a formidable friendship during the American Revolution because the French had supported Americans against the British rule. This historical event led France to develop a respect for America’s success with establishing democracy.

The Great Pyramids of Giza

The Great Pyramids of Giza are also known as the Pyramid of Khufu or Cheops. They have been the place of great tourist attraction and are among the Seven Wonders of the World. These Pyramids are of modest size and are located in south-west. On the eastern side of the complex lies the Great Sphinx which faces towards the east. Khafre is assumed to be the head of the Great Sphinx by the consensus of the Egyptologists. There are also some small pyramids which are known as queen pyramid, valley pyramid and causeways. Some of them are related with the noble monuments which seem to be the tomb of high officials.

There are four main monuments in Pyramid of Giza and only Menkaure’s Pyramid is seen today. Pyramids of Giza were considered to be the tallest structure on the earth for many years after its construction. The Kufu’s pyramid rose up to the height of 479 feet but it was later reduced to the height of 449 feet because of the loss of limestone casing. At present Khafre’s Pyramid which is just adjacent to Khufu’s Pyramid is appears to be larger than the later. These great pyramids were listed as Seven Wonders of the World by Antipater of Sidon. At present it is the only ancient wonder which is in existence.

The Great Pyramid of Giza – Incredible Man-Made Wonder of the World

The Great Pyramid of Giza is a pride attraction of Egypt that welcomes large number of tourists from all over the world. It is the largest structure of the world’s original Seven Wonders and is principally still in tact. This pyramid is actually an architectural feat, which can never be duplicated with the modern technology as well as the advanced knowledge. In fact, many people in the world tried to make another look a like, but was failed to make one. The Japanese were also tried to build a smaller pyramid to scale. However, no one succeeded in building another attraction or wonder of the world.

The Great Pyramid of Giza has been a mystery and also a puzzle to the mankind for ages. Being an ancient wonder, this structure amazes each and every human being in the world. The first question arises is how The Great Pyramid of Giza is been built. During the 5th century BC, the Greek historian Herodotus was spoke about this captivating structure in his writings. He also put forth his theory of how exactly the wonder was constructed. After that, many books have been written until now or in last 120-years, that tells the story of the pyramid. It is not like there is only one pyramid in the world.
